Businesses 'must recognise importance of software' Businesses with professionals fulfilling roles such as finance jobs in London need to recognise the important part software can play in the development of their organisation.

That is according to Julian Swan, director of compliance marketing at the Business Software Alliance (BSA), who has suggested that all savvy managers will rightly perceive such technology as "an asset" to aid the future prospects of their company.

Mr Swan explained that a well-planned software asset management programme can help any firm become both more efficient and cost-effective - two things all bosses are striving to achieve in the wake of the global economic downturn.

Research published last week (August 31st) by the BSA revealed that just six per cent of financial directors operating in the UK believe they are currently getting the best out of their software investments.

However, the expert insisted such tools are worth persevering with due to the potential benefits they can provide.
