Expert urges govt to review AWR after one year An early review of the Agency Workers Regulations (AWR) is essential for professionals such as those in finance jobs in London, an expert has stated.

From the beginning of next month (October 1st), companies will be legally obliged to provide the same employment rights to temporary workers as their full-time members of staff once they have been with a firm for a period of 12 weeks.

This legislation has been designed to improve conditions for interim office jobs employees, by the Recruitment and Employment Confederation (REC) has urged the government to make sure it closely analyses the effect these changes will have on the country's jobs sector.

Director of policy and professional services at the REC Tom Hadley has called on the Conservative-Liberal Democrat alliance to schedule a one year review of the AWR as this would "send an important message to the industry".

"This is something we will continue to push for," he added.
