Inclusion and transparency crucial in business, bosses toldEmployers wanting to make sure their business grows in the wake of the recession should strive to foster a positive working atmosphere.

That is the opinion of Ashley Ward, director at European Leaders, who believes professionals in office jobs - such as experienced sales staff - will react well if their boss approaches management in the right way.

Mr Ward explained that maintaining happiness among members of staff is crucial for any organisation in the present economic situation where redundancies and pay cuts remain commonplace.

However, he insisted that this is not about traditional motivational methods used by some senior officials, such as "having cans of coke in the fridge and free pizzas",

Instead, success revolves around "inclusion and transparency and creating an environment in which people know what their individual success looks like".

This comes after research by ECI last week (September 12th) showed that 74 per cent of bosses at small and medium-sized enterprises are confident they will be able to recruit new workers in the near future.
