CVs 'don't follow one-size-fits-all approach'Individuals sending their CVs to London recruitment agencies should personalise the documents, an expert suggests.

Elizabeth Bacchus, founder of The Successful CV Company (thesuccessfulcv.com) and a leading career coach and writer, explains graduates should make sure they stand out from the crowd when applying for a job.

She says it is important to indicate and demonstrate a range of transferable skills, particularly for those coming into their first job.

"The key thing with any CV is that one size doesn't fit all," Ms Bacchus states.

Different job descriptions will require various abilities, so applications should be amended according to the case.

It is also a good idea to give examples of skills, rather than simply listing them one after the other, the expert adds.

Dan Hawes, co-founder of the Graduate Recruitment Bureau, recently advised being creative with a CV as a good way to make it stand out.
