Older candidates 'ideal for many jobs' Employers looking to recruit people to fulfil finance jobs in London may be well advised to consider older candidates.

That is if comments made by Paul Green, spokesman for Saga, are anything to go by, as he believes such professionals offer a fantastic all-round package to any company wishing to enhance their workforce.

Mr Green explained that these individuals have a "range of experience both of work but more importantly life", meaning they can provide any company with the opportunity to foster a more balanced environment.

He went on to say many managers place a high value on the knowledge and nous older people can bring to a role, something that may be particularly pertinent in tough economic times when firms do not want to take many risks.

Recently, research by the University Geriatrics Institute of Montreal found that people over the age of 55 use their brain more efficiently than their younger counterparts.

And Mr Green added: "Experience is something that you can't just buy off the shelf. It has to be acquired through time and through living life."
