Expert: Struggling businesses must adapt Firms with professionals fulfilling roles such as finance jobs in London finding the going tough in the wake of the recession should adapt their business sooner rather than later.

That is according to Deborah Meaden, successful entrepreneur and Dragon's Den investor, who has advised managers to avoid burying their head in the sand if their company encounters any trouble.

"If you are struggling with your business, you need to consider the reasons. Is it because the business doesn't really fit the current economic climate?" she asked.

Ms Meaden went on to indicate that there will "almost certainly" be an effective way bosses can change their organisation for the better, with it being worth bearing in mind that consumers are extremely keen on good value for money at present.

Recently, Dianah Worman of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development urged managers to focus on keeping morale among members of staff high.
