Businesses such as London recruitment agencies must be bold in order to grow in the wake of the global economic downturn. That is according to Alex Pratt, entrepreneur and founder of Serious Brands, who has urged all managers to make sure they focus fully on "the things that matter" - such as "getting more from less" - in these tough economic times. Last week (November 22nd), outgoing chief executive of the Local Government Association John Ransford indicated that the current age of austerity being experienced in the UK could last as long as 20 years. However, Mr Pratt insisted that even if this is the case, companies must not be overly apprehensive about their prospects as this will merely serve to stunt their expansion. "I think probably the biggest thing for businesses is not to take a fearful view," he noted. The expert went on to state that a "confident approach to risk" is needed. Posted by Mary King
