Smaller companies with professionals fulfilling roles such as finance jobs in London will be buoyed by the government's Autumn Statement. That is according to the Federation of Small Businesses (FSB), which feels that the speech on the coalition's plans - which was delivered by chancellor and MP for Tatton George Osborne yesterday (November 29th) - offered several positive points for these firms. For instance, the body praised the Conservative-Liberal Democrat alliance for its decision to give investors in these organisations more relief on capital gains and income tax. This, the FSB stated, will allow small businesses to find alternative sources of finance other than just through high street banks - a clear indication the government is now recognising their importance in boosting job creation and the UK economy. John Walker, national chairman of the group, observed: "The key now is for the government to be consistent and set to the task of translating these policy intentions into tangible actions on the ground."
