 There will be a number of employers choosing to hire temporary and contract workers from London recruitment agencies in 2012, according to the Recruitment and Employment Confederation (REC).Its predictions for 2012 show that the temp market will provide a "crucial outlet for business and for workers", noted Kevin Green, the REC's chief executive. "The REC/KPMG Report on Jobs shows that monthly temp billings have continued to increase over the last year and the forward-looking REC Jobs-Outlook shows that over 80 per cent of employers are planning to increase or maintain their temporary staffing levels over the next 12 months," he reported. Mr Green also suggested that small businesses will act as a driver for permanent hirings next year as the market remains fragile in the first part of 2012. The Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development has also said the market will deteriorate, but he stressed that talk of a poor jobs market will affect employer confidence, which could in turn have a negative effect on job creation.
