Employers have been reminded to frequently communicate with the staff they hire from London recruitment agencies. It is important to keep employees in the loop and aware of how they can get more information if they want it, remarked Hilary Jeanes, leadership coach and human resources consultant at PurpleLine Consulting. She also stressed that employers should assess when their workers need more support. "People need different things from you at different times – and tend to need more support when in a new job, taking on a different area of responsibility or under pressure to deliver to a tight deadline," the expert advised. Ms Jeanes added that it is vital to know what motivates each member of staff, be it performance-related pay, training or holidays. "Different people want different things and at different stages of their lives," she remarked. Her comments come after Talent Q found that some employers are making fundamental mistakes with psychometric tests when hiring new staff. Posted by Daniel Frost
