More flexible benefits on offer to employees PDF Print E-mail
More flexible benefits on offer to employeesThere are more flexible benefits such as pension contributions on offer to employees than ever before, a new survey has revealed.

Research by the Chartered Institute of Payroll Professionals (CIPP) has found that more employers are offering perks to a job on top of the basic salary to one-third of workers.

It also revealed that pension contributions were the most popular benefit to offer experienced admin staff and other employees, with 77 per cent of respondents citing this as the best perk to a job.

Almost three-quarters (73 per cent) of employees cited childcare vouchers as their favourite benefit, while healthcare and payroll giving schemes were also top priorities.

"With many employees experiencing pay freezes and even pay cuts it is more important than ever that individuals feel they are getting the maximum value from any benefits provided in the workplace," commented Diana Bruce, senior policy liaison officer at the CIPP.

However, with over one-fifth of employers not offering any flexible benefit to their staff, she added that it is important to communicate what is on offer to workers to make them feel valued.

Indeed, 85 per cent of those surveyed said benefits are important.
