Part time staff recruitment in London remains strong with AWR PDF Print E-mail
Part time staff recruitment in London remains strong with AWRPart time staff recruitment in London has not been largely affected by the recent agency workers regulations (AWR).

The latest AWR Monitor from the Recruitment and Employment Confederation (REC) reported that demand for flexible staff remains strong and that any decline is more likely linked to the economy than AWR.

When AWR was in put into full force in December there were no major issues reported, although one issue raised by recruiters was over clients failing to share relevant information.

Common queries about AWR related to holiday pay and calculating basic pay as an hourly rate.

"There is no doubt that the regulations have created significant cost and resourcing implications for the industry," commented Tom Hadley, director of policy and professional services at the REC, "but the priority has been to reassure client organisations over the on-going viability and benefits of using agency staff."

The REC has set up a Flexible Work Commission to support recruiters and monitor the impact of AWR.

According to the JobsOutlook, 87 per cent of employers plan to increase or maintain temporary staff levels in the next 12 months.
