Employers should spot mental health issues of admin staffIt could be hugely important for employers to spot any mental health issues of their PAs in London and other staff as it can affect their work.

Signs of a mental health problems like depression include fatigue, an inability to concentrate, poor memory and short temper, and employers can be ready to spot the symptoms and help their staff.

Karen Jackson, solicitor and managing partner at law employment boutique didlaw, suggested that employees who are not good at being around their colleagues could also indicate problems.

"They also tend to be very off and quite delicate – so if someone upsets them at work they could be crying," she explained.

People in desk-based jobs could take an hour to do a ten-minute job, the expert said.

Her comments come after Elizabeth Bacchus, director of thesuccessfulcv.com, highlighted the importance of making staff feel appreciated at regular times and not just in appraisals. This will help to develop a good working relationship between employer and staff, she remarked.
